HUBRIS AND PRIDE, WELLPOINT AND FOX NEWS



The inauthentic man faces a difficult balancing act, for he is not only avoiding the truth, he has forgotten where he put the truth...that is the kind of self-delusion that creates missteps and a hubris that often leads to downfall.

"Pride goes before a fall" -- hubris. It is also referred to as "pride that blinds", as it causes someone accused of hubris to act in foolish ways that belie common sense. Hubris indicates a loss of touch with reality and overestimating one's own competence or capabilities, especially for people in positions of power.
